We are seeking an advanced, highly skilled Video Editor to take full ownership of our end-to-end post-production pipeline across both long-form and short-form content.
In this role, execution, visual taste, and pacing are paramount. You will be handed raw content or project mandates and expected to work independently at a high bar—sourcing archival media, designing custom motion graphics, executing clean edits, and balancing technical audio/color work to deliver polished, retention-driven videos with speed and precision.
Key Responsibilities
* Full Pipeline Ownership:Manage videos from raw cut to final delivery, including assembly, pacing, audio cleanup, color grading, visual effects, motion graphics, and archival sourcing.
* Long-Form & Short-Form Editing:Cut high-retention long-form videos alongside engaging, high-paced short-form content optimized for modern social platforms.
* Custom Motion Graphics:Design original visual elements, custom lower thirds, callouts, and motion graphics in After Effects rather than relying on standard stock templates.
* Archival & B-Roll Sourcing:Proactively find, integrate, and stitch relevant footage, visual assets, and audio soundscapes to elevate the narrative.
* Workflow & Technical Asset Management:Collaborate effectively through post-production tools such as Notion, LucidLink, frame-accurate review tools, and cloud storage systems.
Required Skills and Experience
* Technical Mastery:Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
* Pipeline Expertise:Proven capability across the full post-production stack (editing, audio cleanup, color correction/grading, visual element creation, final rendering/delivery).
* Retention & Pacing:Exceptional visual instincts, strong sense of timing, and a deep understanding of retention-driven narrative structures.
* Independence & Speed:Demonstrated ability to work self-directed, solve workflow roadblocks autonomously, meet fast turnaround times, and maintain strict attention to detail under minimal supervision.
* Workflow Tools:Experience working with cloud-based collaborative editing setups and production management software (LucidLink, Notion, Frame.io, or similar).

At R37,000/month, this role is competitive with the average South African remote salary. The USD equivalent ($2,000/mo) benefits from the favourable exchange rate.
Application Tips
Tailor your CV to international standards — use a clean format, highlight remote work experience, and include your English proficiency. Many SA applicants succeed by emphasising their strong work ethic and cultural adaptability.
