Job Description

Video Editor (Long-Form & Short-Form)

Turn weekly long-form video into a clean, professional content slate

Location:Fully remote (region flexible; overlap with U.S. business hours preferred)Employment:Full-time, independent contractor (direct hire)Reports to:Organic Content LeadVolume:~1 long-form video per week, chopped into multiple short-form clips

About the Company

We are a rapidly growing U.S.-based company in the fintech and digital investing-education space, now expanding into a new software brand. Our growth is powered by a high-performing content and paid-acquisition engine: long-form video, short-form social, and conversion-focused funnels that turn audience attention into qualified customers. As we scale, the same core marketing team supports both our established education brand and our new software product. This is a fast-moving, direct-response environment where output, iteration, and measurable results matter more than polish for its own sake. Note: this role operates in the crypto and digital-asset education space, so comfort working in that category is important.

About the Role

This role exists to keep our content engine moving. We produce roughly one long-form video per week that then gets chopped into short-form clips for distribution, and we need an editor who can turn that footage around quickly and consistently without sacrificing quality.

Our edit style is clean and professional, closer to an institutional feel than a heavily stylized one. We are not looking for flashy, effect-heavy edits. That said, we want an editor who genuinely has motion-graphics skill, because editors with that skill make the fundamentals look better and can add tasteful emphasis, zooms, and on-screen graphics where they help the viewer understand the material.

Key Responsibilities

Long-Form Editing (YouTube)
* Edit weekly long-form videos with clean pacing, tight cuts, and a polished, professional tone.
* Manage audio leveling, color, and overall consistency across episodes.
Short-Form Editing (Reels / Shorts / Clips)
* Chop long-form content into multiple short-form clips optimized for hooks, captions, and retention.
* Adapt framing and pacing to each platform.
Motion Graphics & Visual Enhancement
* Apply tasteful motion graphics to emphasize key points, zoom on details, and present on-screen graphics or data callouts.
* Keep visual treatment restrained and aligned with the professional brand look.
Workflow & Turnaround
* Deliver consistently on a weekly cadence with fast, reliable turnaround.
* Stay organized with project files and assets; work efficiently from written or recorded direction.

Required Qualifications
* A portfolio showing both long-form and short-form editing (please include links).
* Genuine motion-graphics skill, applied with restraint.
* Proficiency in a professional editing stack (e.g., Premiere Pro and After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve).
* Fluency in short-form conventions: hooks, captions, and pacing.
* Proven ability to deliver quality work at volume on a tight turnaround.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience editing educational, talking-head, or finance/crypto content.
* Experience editing for a direct-response or high-growth YouTube channel.
* Comfort with crypto, fintech, or investing content.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are: fast without being sloppy, detail-oriented, easy to direct, and self-managing. You have taste for a clean, professional look and know when to hold back on effects. You take pride in hitting a weekly cadence and keeping the content pipeline flowing.
