A growing U.S. tax and advisory practice serving individuals, business owners, and other clients with tax preparation, compliance, and advisory services.
The firm is expanding its capacity and is looking for an experienced tax professional who can take ownership of technical tax preparation while the founder remains focused on review, advisory work, and client relationships.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedU.S. Tax Accountant / Tax Return Preparerto handle the technical production of U.S. tax returns.
This person will review source documents, identify missing information, prepare tax returns and supporting workpapers, flag technical questions, and provide a concise summary of completed work for the founder's review.
The founder will retain responsibility for final review, advisory, client communication, and signature.
This is atechnical production role, not a client-facing tax advisory position.
Key Responsibilities
U.S. Tax Preparation
* Prepare U.S. federal individual tax returns, primarily Form 1040.
* Prepare business tax returns, particularly Forms 1120-S and 1065.
* Review client documentation for completeness and consistency.
* Identify missing or potentially problematic information.
* Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers.
* Perform necessary tax calculations.
* Research and flag technical tax issues.
* Prepare completed returns for founder review.
Tax Workflow Management
* Track assigned returns through TaxDome or similar practice management software.
* Maintain accurate workpaper documentation.
* Follow up on technical information needed to complete returns.
* Maintain organized files and clear documentation.
* Meet agreed preparation deadlines.
Review & Communication With Founder
* Provide concise summaries of completed returns.
* Clearly identify unusual items, assumptions, or issues requiring review.
* Explain tax positions and calculations when requested.
* Recommend questions the founder should address before finalizing the return.
* Incorporate review comments accurately and efficiently.
Hard Skills
* 3–5+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience.
* Strong Form 1040 experience.
* Experience with U.S. business returns.
* 1120-S and/or 1065 experience strongly preferred.
* Strong U.S. federal tax knowledge.
* Experience with professional tax software.
* Experience with TaxDome or similar systems preferred.
* QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
* Strong technical documentation skills.

Credentials are preferred, not automatically required. Demonstrated U.S. tax preparation capability is more important.
