Senior Accountant

About the Role

We’re hiring aSenior Accountantto take ownership of the full accounting function across multiple client engagements. This role is focused on building accurate, reliable financials and driving a consistent weekly and monthly close process.

This isnota basic bookkeeping role. We’re looking for someone who can operate independently, manage multiple entities, and ensure high-level accounting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage accounts payable and oversee bill pay processes
* Code and reconcile credit card transactions
* Perform bank and treasury reconciliations
* Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
* Post journal entries and manage accruals (payroll, COGS, subscriptions, etc.)
* Handle prepaids and deferred revenue/expenses
* Execute weekly soft close and monthly hard close processes
* Prepare income statements and complete full balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensure proper classification across revenue, COGS, and operating expenses

Weekly Operating Cadence
* Monday (EST):Deliver weekly P&L, cash report, and highlight key risks/flags
* Tuesday – Thursday:Transaction coding, reconciliations, and journal entries
* Friday:Bring books to ~95% completion in preparation for weekly close

Required Qualifications
* 3–6 years of accounting experience
* Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
* Proven experience owning or significantly contributing to a close process
* Experience managing multiple entities or clients simultaneously
* High attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with U.S.-based companies
* Proficiency in QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
* Background in public accounting or a similarly structured environment

Screening Criteria (Must-Haves)

Only candidates who meet the following will be considered:
* Have owned or significantly contributed to a full close process
* Can independently perform balance sheet reconciliations
* Have a strong understanding of accrual accounting (not just cash basis)
* Can manage multiple clients/entities with minimal supervision
Not a fit for candidates who are primarily:
* AP/AR clerks
* Data entry or bookkeeping-only profiles
* Lacking close or reconciliation experience
