Job Description
Job Title:Google Ads PPC & Growth Strategy Specialist
Working Hours:Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm PST
Compensation: $2,500-3,500/month
Employment Type:Full-Time | Independent Contractor
About the Company & Role
A growing boutique digital advertising agency specializing in high-intent Google Ads and Meta PPC campaigns for local service businesses—with a heavy focus on home services lead generation. Founded in early 2026, the agency is owner-operated by a 20-year tech industry veteran with executive experience at major platforms including Pinterest, Yahoo, and Microsoft. We take a high-touch, consultative approach with our clients, prioritizing campaign quality, deep technical accuracy, and transparent communication over high client volume.
We are looking for a sharp, proactive PPC Specialist & Growth Strategist to serve as an indispensable extension of our founder's team. This is a dynamic full-time role split roughly 50/50:
* 20 hours/week managing live account performance and technical conversion tracking infrastructure.
* 20 hours/week focused on proactive strategy, CRO, and pre-sales business growth (building budget forecasts for prospective client pitches, ideating landing page A/B tests, and designing expansion strategies).
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and deeply data-driven environment. The client values team members who take true ownership: people who dig into the numbers, catch subtle performance issues early, and propose growth ideas before being asked.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Sales Support & Growth Strategy (~20 Hours/Week)
* Pitch Deck & Forecast Modeling: Pull data-backed budget forecasts, media estimates, and account opportunity models to help the founder win new client pitches.
* Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Proactively pitch A/B testing ideas and layout improvements for client landing pages to continuously lift lead conversion rates.
* Strategic Growth: Look beyond daily optimizations to design forward-looking campaign strategies, test new channels/features, and build proactive pitch concepts.
2. Core PPC Strategy & Live Execution (~20 Hours/Week)
* Google Ads Management: Build, monitor, and scale Search (RSA/LSA) and local lead-generation campaigns in Google Ads (primary focus).
* Meta/Facebook PPC (Secondary): Oversee targeted social lead-gen campaigns to complement search efforts where relevant.
* Account Optimization: Continuously refine keyword architecture (phrase, exact, negative lists), analyze search term reports, and optimize bid strategies to lower CPL and improve lead quality.
3. Technical Conversion Tracking & Funnel Setup
* Google Tag Manager (GTM): Independently configure GTM containers, custom event tags, triggers, and variables.
* Analytics & Attribution: Deploy GA4 event tracking, Meta pixels, and call tracking software (e.g., CallRail) across landing pages to guarantee 100% accurate lead attribution.
4. Data Storytelling & Client Support
* Contextual Analysis: Look beyond surface metrics to frame results with real-world context (seasonality, platform shifts, market trends).
* Client Communication Support: Assist in building client-facing performance summaries that translate complex technical work into clear business insights.
Must-Have Qualifications
* 3+ Years PPC Management: Proven track record running lead-generation campaigns (Google Ads focus).
* Pre-Sales & Media Planning Experience: Comfort pulling media estimates, forecasting budgets, and contributing strategy to prospect pitches.
* Landing Page & CRO Instincts: Familiarity with conversion rate optimization principles and a track record of pitching/executing landing page A/B tests.
* Advanced Tracking Capabilities: Independent proficiency in GTM, GA4, pixel setups, and call attribution troubleshooting.
* Agency Background: Experience working directly with agency owners or handling multiple client accounts concurrently.
* Proactive Ownership & Native Fluency: Excellent written/spoken English with a strong consultative mindset—you naturally suggest solutions rather than wait for instructions.
* Remote Setup: High-speed internet, dedicated workstation, and quiet working space.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
* Niche Experience: Direct campaign execution for home services/trades (HVAC, plumbing, roofing, windows, etc.).
* Landing Page Builder Tools: Hands-on experience building/testing in Unbounce, Landingi, or Instapage.
* Creative Strategy: Ability to draft search headlines, ad variants, and value propositions for pitch concepts.
Career Path & Growth Opportunities
As agency revenue grows and the team expands, high performers will have opportunities to mentor junior media buyers, take full ownership of client strategy, and earn expanded bonuses tied to pitch wins and client retention

Application Tips
Tailor your CV to international standards — use a clean format, highlight remote work experience, and include your English proficiency. Many SA applicants succeed by emphasising their strong work ethic and cultural adaptability.
Load Shedding Preparedness
If you're applying for a remote role, having a backup power solution (UPS, inverter, or generator) and mobile data as a backup internet connection shows employers you're prepared for South Africa's infrastructure challenges.
