Job Description

Role: Bookkeeper

Priority Location: South Africa

Working Hours: 9AM - 5PM (GMT) Mon - Fri

Salary Range: $1700 - $2500 USD per month(The final offer is at the client’s discretion and depends on the candidate’s interview result, skills, and experience.)

Type of contract:Independent Contractor

Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple dental clients.
* Process invoices, receipts, payments, and daily bank reconciliations in Xero.
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and cash-flow updates.
* Reconcile payroll journals submitted by UK payroll providers.
* Communicate proactively with clients regarding queries, missing documentation, and financial updates.
* Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and best practices.
* Support end-of-year processes and work closely with UK accountants.
Qualifications:

Required
* Based in South Africa with reliable internet connection.
* Proven experience using Xero (certification preferred).
* 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably for UK clients.
* Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping processes, VAT, and reporting timelines.
* Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
* High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
* Ability to work fully remotely and during UK business hours.
* A friendly person who is comfortable speaking to clients when necessary and is able to build and maintain a good rapport with them.
Preferred
* Experience working with dental practices or other healthcare clients is an advantage.
