Accounts Payable Specialist (Real Estate / Property Accounting)

OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to support a growing real estate portfolio. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of vendor payments across multiple properties. The ideal candidate is focused, organized, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

This position goes beyond basic data entry. You will be expected to identify discrepancies, maintain strong financial controls, and support the broader accounting team with reliable and accurate information.

Key Responsibilities
* Process high volumes of invoices across multiple properties with accuracy and efficiency
* Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
* Manage vendor payments, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
* Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
* Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable
* Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all transactions
* Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to address payment inquiries
* Support property accounting operations by ensuring expenses are properly recorded
* Collaborate with accounting team members to improve AP processes and workflows
* Assist with data entry and administrative accounting tasks as needed
Cross-Functional Support
* Work closely with property accountants and internal teams to ensure accurate expense tracking
* Provide support during audits and financial reviews
* Help identify errors or inconsistencies and escalate when necessary
* Contribute to maintaining strong internal controls and financial accuracy
Qualifications

Required
* 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Experience processing invoices and managing vendor payments
* Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a remote environment
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Clear written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred
* Experience in property accounting or real estate environments
* Exposure to US-based accounting practices
* Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-property portfolios
* Experience supporting month-end close processes
* Comfort working with remote teams and structured workflows
