Job Description
Payments Operations VA
| Remote (South America and SA)| Full-Time| $1,500–$2,500/month USD
About the Company
Our client is a fintech startup building payment infrastructure for high-scale e-commerce brands. We process across
Stripe, Adyen, Airwallex, NMI, and more. Our merchants range from $50K to $5M+ in monthly revenue. We’re a
small, fast-moving team based in NYC and we need operational firepower to keep up with growth.
The Role
You’ll handle the paperwork and follow-ups that get merchants approved on payment processors and their
gateways connected. This includes collecting merchant documents, submitting processor applications, following
up with underwriting teams, entering credentials securely, and keeping our CRM tracker updated daily.
You won’t decide which processor to use — the founder makes those calls. You execute the process and make
sure nothing falls through cracks.
What you’ll do every day:
• Send merchant intake forms to collect business docs (LLC, bank statements, ID)
• Fill out and submit processor applications (Stripe, Airwallex, NMI, Kurv, and others)
• Follow up with processor underwriting teams every 3–5 business days on pending applications
• Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) by collecting additional docs from merchants
• Enter API keys and credentials into 1Password (never in Slack or documents)
• Update the MID Application tracker in Attio CRM daily — status, notes, blocking issues
• Create Basis Theory payment token vaults for new merchants
• Flag any application stuck for 7+ days to the founder
What we’re looking for
•Organized and detail-oriented.You follow checklists religiously. One missing document can delay an
application by weeks — you don’t miss details.
• Strong English, written and spoken. You’ll communicate with merchants, processor reps, and the
founder daily in Slack and email.
• Comfortable with multiple tools. You’ll use Attio (CRM), Slack, 1Password, Tally (forms), Google Drive,
and BasisTheory. You pick up new tools fast.
• Proactive follow-up instinct. If something’s pending, you chase it. You don’t wait to be told.
• Available during US Eastern business hours (9 AM – 6 PM EST).South America timezone preferred
for overlap.
• Payments or fintech experienceis a plus but not required — we provide a comprehensive training
guide and knowledge base.
What you get
• $1,500–$2,500/month USD (based on experience), paid biweekly
• Full-time remote position with flexibility
• Ground-floor role at a growing fintech startup — opportunity to grow into a Head of Payments role
• Comprehensive training: knowledge base + step-by-step playbook + Loom video walkthroughs
• Work directly with the founder — not a faceless corporate hierarchy
To apply: Send your resume and a 2-sentence note on why you’re a fit
