Email and SMS Marketer

The Opportunity

We are a high-growth Fintech firm that has spent the past 5.5 years providing alternative financing to small businesses often overlooked by traditional banks. While our lead-generation engine via Meta and Google Ads is robust, we are seeking anEmail and SMS Marketerto bridge the gap between“Lead In”and“Funded.”

Currently, engagement drops off significantly after the first 72 hours. This role is crucial in owning the entire lead lifecycle—ensuring we remaintop of mindthrough strategic drip campaigns, sophisticated data segmentation, and high-frequency touchpoints that guide small business owners to the finish line.

The Role (Mission)

Your mission is toeliminate lead leakageand maximize the ROI of every lead. You willbuild, manage, and optimize automated communication journeyswithin Salesforce and Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement), nurturing small business owners from their initial inquiry through to their fifth funding round.

Core Responsibilities

1. Audience Strategy & Data Segmentation
* Advanced Logic:Build segmentation for every lifecycle stage (New Lead, Pending Docs, Underwriting, Funded, Declined, etc.).
* Data Hygiene:Maintain ongoing rules for email validity, phone formatting, duplicate suppression, and TCPA compliance.
* B2B Growth:Collaborate to acquire supplemental B2B data in high-performing industries identified through historical analysis.
* Custom Audiences:Create status-based audiences to trigger synchronized messaging across digital platforms and social media.

2. Campaign Strategy & Messaging
* Omnichannel Coordination:Sync messaging across email, SMS, and custom audience ads for a seamless multi-touch experience.
* Lifecycle Framework:Define communication cadences based on client attributes, status, and time-in-status to reduce fatigue while maintaining persistence.
* Content Repurposing:Develop a messaging framework that balances direct sales offers with high-value educational content (e.g., “The ABCs of Funding”).

3. Campaign Execution & Operations
* Deployment:Build and deploy email/SMS campaigns using Salesforce Engagement Studios and automation rules.
* Salesforce/Pardot Maintenance:Ongoing configuration of CRM objects, fields, workflows, and templates (landing pages, forms, and form handlers).
* Technical QA:Conduct routine QA on merge fields, UTM tracking, link parameters, and formatting prior to launch.
* A/B Testing:Implement structured tests for subject lines, send times, and CTA placements based on audience segments.

4. Performance Tracking & Optimization
* Baseline Metrics:Establish KPIs for each funnel stage, including Open rates, CTR, CTOR, Reply rates, and Funded Loan rates.
* Deliverability Monitoring:Track domain health, IP reputation, and spam-filter trends; provide alerts for bounce spikes or SMS filtering issues.
* Reporting & Dashboards:Maintain reports visualizing campaign effectiveness and pipeline influence, broken down by campaign type and device.

5. Compliance & Collaboration
* Regulatory Oversight:Ensure communications adhere to TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and carrier best practices for SMS.
* Team Alignment:Sync marketing workflows with sales and operations to ensure messaging aligns with real-time lead status.

Qualifications & Requirements
* Salesforce & Pardot Experience:Must understand how to build Engagement Studios, dynamic lists, and completion actions.
* Experience:3–5+ years in Email Marketing or CRM Management, ideally within Fintech, Lending, or B2B Professional Services.
* Communication:C1 English proficiency; able to write empathetic, “velvet hammer” copy that builds trust with small business owners under stress.
* Design Skills:Proficient in Canva or basic design tools; capable of selecting Adobe Stock images and formatting high-converting templates.
* Technical Skills:Strong understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and automated list management logic.

* Schedule:Full-time, aligned with US Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
* Location:Remote / Offshore (Open to talent in South Africa or LATAM).
