Job Description
Position:Senior Media Buyer, AI-First Operator (Pet Supplements)
Location: Remote: SA/LatAm/PH
Work Schedule:9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time (Miami time)
Salary:Market RelatedMiami, FL · Remote-friendly · Full-time
We are a DTC pet supplement brand built around one hero product: our liquid collagen for dogs. We sell on Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and Chewy, and paid social is the engine that feeds all of them.Our core revenue driver is Amazon, and we're actively diversifying from it.
Speed is the job.We’re an AI-first team, and our edge is getting from insight to live test faster than anyone in the category. You’ll have an in-house creative team, a creator and UGC pipeline, developers, landing page and listicle builders, and a full analytics stack. We’re looking for an operator, not just a buyer: someone who spots the opportunity, brings the idea forward, and has it live before anyone asks.
What you’ll do
* Own paid media strategy and execution, primarily on Meta, reporting directly to the founder.
* Build conversion funnels that tie real pet-parent problems (joints, mobility, coat, aging) to the creative, landing page, and offer.
* Work with our developer to keep landing pages current, tested, and matched to the ads driving traffic to them.
* Turn insights into tests fast, coordinating creative, creators, and dev to launch.
* Write clear creative briefs based on what the data and customers are telling you.
* Work AI-first. Use AI daily for:customer and competitor researchad angles and hooksbriefs and landing page draftsperformance analysis
* customer and competitor research
* ad angles and hooks
* briefs and landing page drafts
* performance analysis
* Build workflows that let one person do the work of a team.
* Read results honestly, including halo effects on Amazon and Chewy rather than Meta-reported ROAS alone. Fix the funnel and scale what works.
* Keep every claim compliant with pet supplement advertising rules.
What we’re looking for
* 4+ years of hands-on DTC media buying, ideally in supplements, pet, or another problem/solution category.
* A track record of growing a hero product or focused line, with numbers you can walk us through.
* Full-funnel thinking. You understand the whole path from ad to landing page to offer to retention, how each piece affects the others, and why a weak link anywhere breaks the overall strategy.
* The experience to move customers through that funnel. You know where to look when conversion stalls, and you can fix it, whether the problem is the creative, the page, the offer, or what happens after the first order.
* An operator mindset. You run the whole loop from idea to brief to launch to analysis to scale, and you’re comfortable doing the work yourself, not just directing it.
* AI-native habits. You already use tools like Claude or ChatGPT, AI creative tools, and automation in your daily work, and you can show us how.
* Comfort with a subscription model and LTV-based decisions, not only first-order ROAS.
* Ownership, initiative, and follow-through. You act on opportunities without waiting for direction.
* The discipline to scale responsibly. Prove it at the current budget, then earn the bigger one.
How success is measured
* Speed from idea to live test
* Blended profitability: MER, new-customer CAC, and contribution margin
* Conversion rate improvements across the full funnel, from click to first order to repeat purchase
* Testing pace and quality across creative, landing pages, and offers
* How much you can ship with the leverage AI and the team give you
* Ownership and follow-through
Where this role goesThis is a path to Head of Growth. As you prove results on Meta, you’ll take on our other paid acquisition channels, including TikTok, Chewy, and Google, and help build the team that runs them.
Your first 90 days
* 30 days:Audit the account, the funnel, and tracking, and ship your first tests.
* 60 days:Run a weekly testing cadence with a clear win/loss log.
* 90 days:Have at least one new winning angle or funnel scaled.
Tips for South African Applicants
Timezone Advantage
South Africa (SAST, UTC+2) overlaps well with European business hours and has a few hours of overlap with US East Coast. Mention your timezone flexibility in your application.
Salary in Context
Even without a listed salary, international remote roles typically pay 2-3x more than equivalent local positions in South Africa due to the exchange rate advantage.
Application Tips
Tailor your CV to international standards — use a clean format, highlight remote work experience, and include your English proficiency. Many SA applicants succeed by emphasising their strong work ethic and cultural adaptability.
Load Shedding Preparedness
If you're applying for a remote role, having a backup power solution (UPS, inverter, or generator) and mobile data as a backup internet connection shows employers you're prepared for South Africa's infrastructure challenges.
