Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper on an independent contractor basis to provide full-cycle bookkeeping services for a U.S. manufacturing business. This is a services-based engagement, not an employment role. The contractor will work independently, manage deliverables, and coordinate with company leadership and an external U.S. CPA firm. While the business is in manufacturing, inventory is expensed, so the role focuses on general accounting rather than complex manufacturing cost analysis.
Scope of Services
* Execute daily accounting operations, including ledger accuracy, journal entries, and month-end close
* Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and friendly collections calls to ensure timely payments
* Complete monthly reconciliations and close within 5 business days at month-end
* Process payroll and coordinate with payroll providers and banking partners
* Prepare periodic financial and management reports, including variance analysis and explanation of significant changes
* Support sales/use tax tracking, fixed assets, year-end close, and process improvements
* Collaborate with external U.S. CPA firm for audits, tax filings, and year-end close
* Maintain accurate records and ensure internal controls are followed for all accounting processes
* Communicate with company leadership regarding financial matters, reporting timelines, and discrepancies
Required Qualifications
* Proven experience providing full-cycle bookkeeping services to U.S.-based companies
* Demonstrated proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise
* Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a high commitment to customer service
* Excellentwritten and spoken English
* Spanish language skills would be a nice-to-have, but not a strict requirement
Systems & Tools
* QuickBooks Enterprise (accessed via secure remote desktop), Microsoft 365 Suite
* Contractor provides own equipment and workspace (BYOD)

* Collaboration and Teamwork:While this is primarily an individual contributor role, the candidate must be able to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams, including the estimating and operations departments. A collaborative, service-oriented approach is key.

Ongoing services engagement with monthly invoicing. Contractor responsible for all taxes and obligations in their country of residence.
