Job Description
Real Estate Acquisitions Appointment Setter
Location & Employment:Remote, Full-time, independent contractor. Must work U.S. Eastern hours with flexibility across an 8:00 AM–6:00 PM ET window (owners are often easiest to reach late afternoon/early evening).
About the Company
We are a rapidly growing U.S.-based real estate investment and technology firm focused on acquiring off-market industrial properties nationwide. Founded by operators with deep institutional real estate experience, we pair a proprietary, engineering-built lead-generation platform with a hands-on acquisitions team, and we are expanding that model into a technology-enabled brokerage serving third-party clients. Our approach is deliberately high-touch: we go direct to property owners, build real relationships, and win deals others never see.
About the Role
Our technology surfaces the leads and our AI handles part of the outreach, but the conversation that actually moves a deal forward still has to happen human-to-human. That is this role.
You will be the first voice a property owner hears — typically the owner of a local trades business (HVAC, plumbing, roofing) who owns the building their company operates from. Your job is to build rapport, gauge whether they would consider selling, and set a meeting for one of our licensed brokers, who takes it from there. This is not a high-volume residential dialing seat. Each market has a few thousand genuinely good targets, many worth nurturing over months. Judgment, warmth, and persistence matter more than raw call volume.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Outreach & Relationship Building
* Call property owners from qualified, internally researched target lists (skip tracing and ownership data are handled in-house).
* Build quick rapport with small-business and trades owners; earn the conversation before earning the meeting.
* Represent the firm professionally as the owner's first point of human contact.
Lead Qualification & Appointment Setting
* Assess owner interest, timing, and fit; separate real opportunities from dead ends.
* Book qualified meetings between interested owners and our brokers.
* Hand off clean context on the owner and property so the broker walks in prepared.
CRM & Nurturing
* Log every touch, outcome, and next step accurately in the CRM.
* Manage a follow-up cadence on warm-but-not-ready owners (e.g., revisit in 3–4 months) so no relationship goes cold.
Collaboration
* Work closely with brokers and leadership; incorporate feedback and refine your approach as the playbook develops.
Required Qualifications
* 2+ years in outbound calling, appointment setting, or sales development (SDR/BDR), ideally B2B.
* Excellent spoken English with a clear, neutral accent and genuine comfort speaking with U.S. business owners.
* Resilience with rejection and the discipline to follow up persistently over long cycles.
* Strong CRM habits and clean documentation.
* Reliable high-speed internet, a quiet workspace, and full U.S. Eastern-hours availability.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in real estate acquisitions, wholesaling, or brokerage support.
* Experience selling to or speaking with U.S. small-business, blue-collar, or trades owners.
* Comfort with high-consideration, relationship-driven outreach rather than script-and-volume dialing.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You are warm and easy to talk to, but hard to rattle. You read people quickly and adjust your approach on the fly. Rejection does not shake you, and you have no problem calling someone back two weeks later with the same energy. You are organized enough that nothing falls through the cracks, self-motivated enough to work without someone watching, and coachable enough to get sharper with every round of feedback.
Why Join Us
This is a ground-floor seat on a small, growing team. Prove the model with us early and there is real room to grow as we scale the caller team over the coming year.
Tips for South African Applicants
Timezone Advantage
South Africa (SAST, UTC+2) overlaps well with European business hours and has a few hours of overlap with US East Coast. Mention your timezone flexibility in your application.
Salary in Context
Even without a listed salary, international remote roles typically pay 2-3x more than equivalent local positions in South Africa due to the exchange rate advantage.
Application Tips
Tailor your CV to international standards — use a clean format, highlight remote work experience, and include your English proficiency. Many SA applicants succeed by emphasising their strong work ethic and cultural adaptability.
Load Shedding Preparedness
If you're applying for a remote role, having a backup power solution (UPS, inverter, or generator) and mobile data as a backup internet connection shows employers you're prepared for South Africa's infrastructure challenges.
