Construction Estimator - Xactimate Specialist

What You'll Be Doing:
* Generating accurate and highly detailed scopes of work and cost estimatesfor a wide range of property damages, primarily focusing onfire and water damage losses typically exceeding $100,000 (averaging $200,000 - $400,000).
* Creating precise sketches and diagrams usingXactimate.
* Traveling to subject properties, sometimes on an emergency basis, to photograph damages and confirm scope and finishes (Matterport proficiency is a plus; training provided).
* Collaborating closely with insurance carrier building consultants and independent adjustersto obtain agreed scopes and build strong relationships.
* Documenting, scoping, and estimating unforeseen damages and supplemental repairs, including upgrades for current building standards and codes.
* Working directly with general contractors or insured's project managersto ensure all property damages are correctly estimated.
* Providing technical explanationsfor repair methods to clients, adjusters, and consultants, justifying increased construction costs or additional labor.
* Preparing comprehensive scopes of work and unit cost differencesto effectively negotiate and maximize insurance settlements.
* Creating budgets and conceptual estimates, conducting cost analysis, and coordinating estimates.
* Managing project timelines and schedules, and resolving complex technical issues.
* Mentoring team membersand ensuring adherence to department standards and documentation.

What We're Looking For:
* 3+ years of construction estimating experience, with a strong background in disaster restoration and the insurance industries.
* High-level proficiency in Xactimateis a must.
* Strong understanding ofconstruction methodology and building codes.
* Educational background inengineering, architecture, or construction project management.
* Proficient inMS Office (especially Excel),Bluebeam Revu, and construction scheduling programs (e.g., Primavera, MS Projects).
* Excellentverbal and written communication skillswith a professional demeanor.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic, with a strong work ethic.
* Ability to identify potential site hazards (e.g., asbestos, lead paint, mold).
