LOOKING FOR STELLAR TOP CANDIDATES
Position:Account Executive (Commercial Insurance)Working Hours:Full-Time│Monday–Friday│Must be flexible in CST hoursSearch Location:South Africa (Remote)Salary:1500-2000 USD per month:The Final Salary Offer depends on the client’s decision, interview results and experience
About the Client:
Our client is a tech-forward independent insurance agency that serves commercial clients. The agency owner also runs a related software company that provides AI-powered tools to independent insurance agencies, including AI call answering, lead and quote follow-up, and client outreach. Every tool is tested inside the agency’s own day-to-day operations before it is offered to other agencies.
The agency receives a steady flow of high-quality inbound commercial insurance leads, more than the current team can handle. To serve these clients well and project a larger, more professional image that attracts bigger commercial accounts, the company is hiring a sharp, client-facing Account Executive.
About the Role:
We are seeking an Account Executive to manage the full client journey for 3–4 inbound commercial insurance leads per day, from first call through quoting, closing, binding, and servicing.
This is a client-facing role, not a back-office assistant position. The Account Executive will answer calls from prospective commercial clients, ask qualifying questions, gather information, submit applications to underwriters, present quotes, set up premium financing and payments, and complete the binding process. The role also includes occasional client management for the company’s AI software, along with AI-assisted marketing tasks such as social media content and blog review.
The ideal candidate is articulate, sharp, tech-savvy, and comfortable with AI tools, with strong communication skills and sales potential. Insurance experience is helpful but not required: the agency owner will provide full training on the agency’s specific, tech-forward process.
Role Responsibilities:
Client Intake & Qualification
* Answer inbound calls from prospective commercial insurance clients professionally and confidently.
* Ask qualifying questions to understand each client’s business and coverage needs.
* Send clients a pre-built intake form link by text or email.
* Present a polished, professional image that builds trust with commercial business owners.
Submission & Quoting
* Review completed intake forms for accuracy and completeness.
* Enter client data into the quoting software and submit applications to underwriters.
* Retrieve quotes from underwriters and wholesalers.
* Review quotes with the agency owner before presenting them to clients.
* Send quotes to clients and answer their questions.
Closing & Payment
* Create premium finance agreements for clients who finance their premiums (approximately 70% of clients).
* Send payment links and confirm payments are received.
* Follow up with clients consistently to move quotes to closed policies.
Binding & Servicing
* Collect signed documents from clients.
* Send completed documents to wholesalers and file the binder.
* Generate Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for clients as requested.
* Keep client records and documents organized and up to date.
Software Client Support & AI-Assisted Marketing
* Provide occasional client management support for the company’s AI software product.
* Create and schedule social media content using AI tools.
* Review AI-generated blog posts for quality and accuracy, and add images before publishing.
Required Qualifications:
* 2–5 years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, insurance, or another client-facing role (preferred; full training is provided for strong candidates).
* Excellent spoken and written English, with an articulate, confident, and professional phone presence.
* Strong sales potential and comfort speaking with business owners.
* Sharp, quick learner who can pick up new processes and software quickly.
* Tech-savvy, with hands-on familiarity with AI tools.
* Strong attention to detail when handling client information, documents, and payments.
* Organized, with strong follow-up habits and the ability to manage several clients at different stages at once.
* Ability to work independently while following an established process.
* Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated remote workspace with a professional headset.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in commercial insurance, especially with quoting, underwriter submissions, binding, or COIs.
* Experience with premium financing.
* Experience working with insurance wholesalers or underwriters.
* Familiarity with insurance quoting software and agency management systems (AMS).
