Job Description
* Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
* Manage and mentor a team of tax associates and analysts, reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance.
* Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on complexU.S. federal taxissues and planning opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and stay updated on changes to U.S. federal and state tax laws.
* Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the company’s effective tax rate and cash flow.
* Coordinate tax audits and manage communication with tax authorities.
* Review and analyze financial statements for accurate tax reporting.
* Assist in preparing tax provisions for financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations) to evaluate the tax implications of business decisions.
* Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and internal controls.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree in Taxation preferred).
* In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal tax regulations; state and international tax knowledge is a plus.
* CPA license or progress toward CPA certification required (or equivalent professional certification).
* 5+ years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software (e.g., ProSeries, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
* Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
* Familiarity with international tax structures and compliance.
* Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Strong business acumen and ability to align tax strategy with organizational objectives.
