Shopify Implementation SpecialistLocation:South AfricaSalary Range:1300 - 2500 USDRole Description:The Shopify Implementation Specialist is responsible for setting up, customizing, and launching high-performing e-commerce stores on the Shopify platform. This role involves translating business needs into functional online storefronts, configuring backend systems, integrating third-party apps, and ensuring seamless user experiences. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with an eye for design, UX, and e-commerce strategy, enabling brands to go live on Shopify quickly and successfully.Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of Shopify stores from setup through launch.
* Configure and customize themes to meet brand guidelines and user experience standards.
* Build and manage product catalogs, including product variants, categories, collections, and tagging.
* Integrate third-party apps, payment gateways, shipping solutions, and marketing tools.
* Optimize store performance and mobile responsiveness.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, design, logistics, and IT to gather assets and content.
* Ensure compliance with best practices related to SEO, page speed, accessibility, and security.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during implementation.
* Provide training and documentation for internal teams on store management and updates.
* Stay current with Shopify updates, tools, and ecosystem developments.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, E-commerce, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 2+ years of experience working with Shopify or Shopify Plus.
* Proficiency in Shopify theme customization (HTML, CSS, Liquid, JavaScript).
* Strong understanding of e-commerce UX/UI best practices.
* Familiarity with SEO, conversion rate optimization, and digital marketing fundamentals.
* Experience with Shopify apps, APIs, and integrations.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Figma or Adobe XD for UI/UX collaboration.
* Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Shopify Analytics).
* Familiarity with Klaviyo, Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager, and other marketing tools.
* Experience working in an agency or with multiple client accounts is a plus.
