Job Description
Position: Web Developer
Location:Remote - Open to LATAM / South Africa
Role Purpose
We are transitioning from a primarily brick-and-mortar model to adirect-to-consumer (D2C) and subscription-led digital strategy. The current website is clunky, expensive to maintain, and a major blocker to growth.
The Web Developer will own the overhaul, optimization, and ongoing management of the Shopify website, ensuring it supports:
* A new subscription program.
* AQ3 2026 product launch(innovative coffee byproduct).
* Scalable, cost-effective digital growth.
This role is critical to unlocking revenue, improving customer experience, and reducing ongoing development costs.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development & Ownership (Primary)
* Lead therebuild and optimizationof the existing Shopify website.
* Improve backend usability, speed, stability, and scalability.
* Implementsubscription functionalityand D2C best practices.
* Support product launches, promotions, and landing pages.
* Ensure mobile responsiveness, performance optimization, and SEO fundamentals.
* Manage integrations (payments, subscriptions, analytics, email, etc.).
* Reduce reliance on expensive external agencies by owning ongoing site updates.
Conversion & Growth Support
* Collaborate with leadership to support D2C growth initiatives.
* ImplementCRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)improvements to increase conversion rates.
* Track and report on website performance and user behavior.
* Ensure the website is launch-ready forQ3 2026 initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as aShopify Web Developer.
* Strong understanding ofD2C and eCommerce best practices.
* Ability to work independently and take full ownership of a website.
* Experience with subscriptions, product launches, and scaling eCommerce sites.
* Comfortable workingremotely and asynchronously.
* Strong problem-solving and cost-conscious mindset.
