The Mission: Financial Control and Profit Optimization
Our client’s CEO has a background in finance and accounting and has successfully scaled the organization to 15M with a lean team. They are now at an inflection point where a dedicated Head of Finance is needed to take the reins.
This is a full stack finance role. You are not just looking at the scoreboard, you are maintaining the field. You will own the entire accounting and month close process, but your true value will be in your research oriented mindset. You should be the person who pays for themselves by identifying inefficiencies, optimizing pricing strategy, and ensuring every dollar spent is driving revenue.
Key Responsibilities
I. Financial Controllership and Reporting
Month Close MasteryLead and optimize the entire monthly close process. Your goal is the rapid and accurate generation of financial statements every single month without exception.
Full Cycle OversightManage one direct report, the Bookkeeper, and ensure all accounting functions from AP and AR to payroll are running flawlessly.
Legacy Systems and MigrationNavigate existing reporting functions currently housed in Salesforce to extract data and ensure historical accuracy as the company scales.
Expense ManagementOversee company spend via Ramp, ensuring policy compliance and identifying trends in team expenditures.
II. Profitability and Revenue Strategy
Spend EfficiencyActively dig into the P and L to find savings. You will speak with team members and challenge assumptions to ensure all spending is lean and effective.
Pricing OptimizationAnalyze current pricing models. Advise leadership when services are underpriced and identify opportunities to expand revenue through strategic adjustments.
Budgeting and ForecastingPartner with the CEO to build robust financial models in Google Sheets that guide hiring and expansion decisions.
Technical Requirements and Skills
Advanced Financial ModelingExpert level Google Sheets skills. You should be highly comfortable with complex formulas, data visualization, and building dynamic reports.
CRM and Accounting IntegrationExperience with Salesforce reporting is a significant advantage. You should understand how to pull and interpret data from a CRM to drive financial insights.
