Residential Architectural DrafterJob SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Residential Architectural Drafter to join our Design Center team. This role is ideal for a professional passionate about residential design and highly skilled in producing precise construction documents. You will collaborate closely with architects, designers, and consultants to translate design concepts into accurate, buildable drawings that meet project standards and codes.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time.Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage complete sets of residential architectural working drawings from sketches, preliminary concepts, and specification sheets.
* Revise and update existing plans, incorporating redlines and maintaining version control.
* Prepare supporting documents and ensure accurate documentation of plan changes.
* Collaborate with Interior Designers and Design Assistants to produce drawings for electrical/low voltage layouts, plumbing, cabinetry, and finish selections.
* Create detailed sections and construction details based on residential building methods and materials.
* Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, industry best practices, and applicable codes.
* Interpret and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering drawings.
* Compile and prepare complete permit submittal packages for review by building departments.
* Maintain accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across all project drawings.
* Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required.
* Minimum of 3 years of architectural project experience under the supervision of a Registered Architect.
* At least 3 years of residential drafting experience, with strong knowledge of single-family design and IBC Type V construction.
* Experience in a Design Center or production-focused environment is a plus.
* High proficiency in AutoCAD Architecture and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Revit experience is preferredbut not required.
* Strong knowledge of residential construction drawings, detailing, and building systems.
* Ability to read and integrate MEP, Structural, and Civil Engineering drawings.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
* Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail.
* Proactive problem-solver.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
